Blog has moved...

I've moved my blog to a new home.

The new address is www.pauledw.com.

Vista in November...

Seems that we will see Vista in November (I assume they mean this year...).

Launch your colleagues...game

This is quite amusing...for 5 minutes anyway...

Unbelievable chalk drawings...

Worth a look, difficult to work out what's real and what isn't in some of them.

Pretty impressive.

Search for "Search"...

devenkamp has an interesting post.

If you do a search on Google for "Search", MSN comes second, Google only third.  Both beaten by search.comWhat's also interesting is that if you do the same search on MSN, again search.com seems to beat them both, but MSN is way down the list...

You'd think they would always come first in their own listings, but perhaps this explains a bit about how their indexing is done or how they view their own sites...

I suppose searching for "Search" though is a bit like buying a bag to carry your bag around...

Great, http://del.icio.us/ is back up...

Right, got the hang of del.icio.us tags now...check out the link if your not sure.

Basically, del.icio.us is just a clever way of storing favourites/bookmarks.  If you are anything like me you probably have so many of them stored they're literally useless as you can't find any of them ever again.  Tags are are a way of 'tagging' favourites with related info.

So, assume you stored your favourites in IE or FIrefox or whatever you use in a folder structure, the problem you have then is that some favourites should really be in more than one folder...take someone who you knows blog.  You could put it in "friends" folder, then again, what if you have a "blogs" folder, shouldn't it go in there also.....see the problem.

Well, tags mean you can associate your friends blog with both "friends" and "blogs" and be able to find this again by drilling down the tags on the right hand side of your del.icio.us page, firstly clicking "friends" (which will give you all your saved links you have associated to "friends", then if you click "blogs"....I think you're probably getting the idea now...

Definitely worth a try...you'll soon get the hang of it.

del.icio.us

As I have a few free hours today, I thought I'd try and get a grip on what del.icio.us gives me.

I signed up about a month ago and haven't really used it since then.  First step I thought was to try and understand what tags can do for me only to find del.icio.us is down for maintenance.

Looks like it'll have to wait...

Firefox...

If you haven't done so already, download Firefox now.  I've been an avid IE user up to now and even have IE7 installed, but wanted something different really.

Main reason for starting to use Firefox was the huge numbers of plugins and extensions you can get for it.  Seems to be one for just about anything you want to do and that's not including the Themes themselves.

I'm currently using the Noia 2.0 (eXtreme) theme, which is a fully skinned version by Carlitus.

Go check it out....

Add the World Cup fixtures to Outlook

Couldn't resist pointing out this web site.

On the site is basically a zip file you can download that has all the matches created as appointments, you just need to unzip it and drag them all onto your calendar, or even just the ones you want.

Nice one Andrew...

Testing Email Publishing...

There's a feature on MSN Spaces now that allows me to publish entries by simply emailing them in.  Sounds kinda cool, so thought I'd enable it and give it a go..
